Ross is passionate about fitness and it shows through the energy and enthusiasm he brings to every session. Ross has always been very professional in every conceivable way: his knowledge, punctuality, attention to detail, and his ability to develop my weak areas. I have incredible energy and my balance and flexibility have improved.

What is your fitness philosophy?

I feel that functional training is integral to well-being and longevity and therefore my programming concentrates on total body power movements that strengthen as well as burn maximum calories. A workout that combines Kettlebells, the TRX system and your own body weight is a great way to reach your fitness goals! Fitness has enriched my life in so many ways, and I think that everyone can benefit from a balanced life that includes proper nutrition, strength training and cardiovascular conditioning.

What is your story?

My background as an athlete and Division One collegiate swimmer created a strong foundation for becoming a coach, group exercise instructor and personal trainer. Since graduating from the University Of Maryland College Park I have pursued a career in personal training and coaching swimming and triathletes. I have a BS in Kinesiology from the University of Maryland and certifications from the National Academy of Sports Medicine CPT, Mad Dogg Spinning and Kettlebells.

In November, 2004 I met Ross at Philadelphia Sports Club shortly after he transferred to Philadelphia. Amazingly enough in January, 2011 we started our 6th year of partnership. He is charismatic, compassionate and an attentive teacher. He knows when to push and when to hold back or stay constant. He constantly changes routines, so our sessions are never the same. Besides the training sessions, Ross helps with all aspects of fitness: diet, cardio, flexibility, rest, proper nutrition, cross training and equipment.

Who do you work with?

I thoroughly enjoy working with clients of all ages and ability levels-- from age 3 to age 93. I have also been competing in triathlons for the past 10 years and teaching triathletes in both private and small group settings for 5 years. As a swimming instructor and former swim team coach, I specialize in stroke technique, which tends to be the main weakness confronted by athletes who aspire to compete in a triathlon.

Ross and Friends

After I graduated from college and moved to Philadelphia, I was looking to find a new coach to help me become a better triathlete. I had already done several sprint triathlons and half marathons, so Ross personalized my training to take me to the next level. Within the past 6 months, I have seen huge results. I increased my personal record by 10 minutes at my half marathon and placed 2nd in my age group at the triathlon.

After my first consultation with Ross, I knew I had found the right person to help me achieve the results I wanted with respect to my body and mind. He created an atmosphere that inspired me to push myself further than I ever thought I was able to. Now I feel great about myself and the transformation of my body is a testament of how committed Ross is to my goals. Thanks to Ross, I am now in better shape than I have ever been.

I’ve spent much of my life as an active athlete and truly enjoy exercise. After being sidelined with a knee injury for a few years, I realized that the same rigor of training that I endured in my younger years was no longer effective. Ross introduced me to TRX, a form of suspension training that can be used anywhere and provides a full body workout for the user.

That was approximately a year ago and, to date, I am still as pleased as I was when I first started training with Ross. His enthusiasm is endless and his effort to personalize the training session, so that the client truly benefits, is superb.
